    1) Read again the story of the lame man and Jesus. What excuses did the man have for not getting well?

    2) Look at Ecclesiastes 11:4. What happens when you only wait for conditions to be perfect before you act on something? Also see Proverbs 20:4.

    3) We all can have excuses for not obeying God. Read the parable in Luke 14:15-24. In what ways can we act like those invited to the party in this story?

    4) Read Paul’s rebuke in 2 Thessalonians 10-11. What does it mean to live an idle life? How can a Christian be idle in their spiritual, evangelistic, financial or serving responsibilities?

    5) God will bless those who make the right preparations when they have the opportunity. Study the parable in Matthew 25:1-13. What is one thing you can do while you wait for God? Also see Isaiah 40:31 in the KJV. How active does this verse say are the people who wait upon the Lord?
